Message 300Degree.com has a new product. The Brake Master Cylinder Brace Kit.

There has been some recent discussion about the need for this so we finalized the design of a prototype that has been in use for almost two years now. It is a simple install that nearly anyone with a socket set and combination wrenchs can perform. The concept is simple - when you push on the brakes, the firewall flexes a bit and this contributes the "mushy" feel many of us complain about in our brakes. The brace prevents forward movement of the brake master cylinder, eliminating the mushy feel. There has been some debate about whether or not this would actually improve brake performance, and we don't really know for sure that it does - BUT, the brake feel is absolutely better than without the brace.

We have tested the brace in a 95 TT manual, and a 90 2+2 auto. The kit is designed for the north american market Z32's, but should fit any left hand drive (LHD) Z32 - regardless of version or options.

The suggested retail price is $35, compared to over $100 for the brace the Japanese tuners sell for their RHD cars. Our distributors (GR Racing and Concept Z Performance) should have inventory on hand soon. Please contact them to purchase the kit. Production of the kit started earlier this week, with initial inventory available for shipment on friday.
